OUR LAST NIGHT IN FLORIDA

All week, we enjoyed unusually great weather for Florida. Absolutely no rain, until our last night. Have you ever heard the saying, "When it rains, it pours?" That quote doesn't compare to our last night!

Granny Beaded Neck

I have never in my life heard of "Granny Beads," until my sister told Marli Claire that she had them at Cirque Du Soliel (she played so hard outside that day). I googled "granny beads," and this is what it said:

This was taken from an interview with a country music singer, who sings about "granny beads."

"Well my grandma would always come work [in the gardens] ... Granny beads are what they're called when a grandma works the garden all day -- you always see them -- they have a handkerchief around their neck with a lot of dust on them, and then the sweat will go down and make these black beads of sweat and dirt around their neck. And that's what they call granny beads."

While I am certain that this won't be the last time my sweet child has "granny beads," I sure will pay closer attention from now on. Please tell me that I am not the only one on earth who didn't know about "granny beads."

What would you do? (Cirque Du Soleil)

Last night, we went to Cirque Du Soleil (La Nouba) in Orlando. I cannot tell you how awesome this show is, you really need to experience it! If I could go back in time, and ask my Mom one thing, it would be to raise me to be in Cirque du Soleil. If you could go back and do anything, what would it be?

My Mom's Heart

MOM & MARLI (OCTOBER 08')


I would like to ask you to please pray for my mom, Linda Morrison. We found out this week that she will have another heart cath, a week from Wednesday. I don't know all of the details yet, but will keep you posted. Those of you who know my mom, know what an incredible person she is. I cannot begin to explain what she means to me. She is by far, the STRONGEST woman I will ever know. Please keep her in your prayers. I know that my God is a healer!

Anyone for Cheesecake?

We are heading out for vacation in Florida on Saturday. Matthew and I were fortunate enough to find airfare for $29 one way, so we are excited that we won't be driving! The kicker is that they charge $50/bag you check (that's almost double what we pay to fly). We decided to have my family meet us to pick up our bags since they are driving, I know, they're awesome. We met today in Atlanta at the Cheesecake Factory. If you know our family well, you know that we plan every trip around food, and not the other way around. We not only enjoyed an incredible meal, we had fun hanging out, playing in the courtyard.

WE HAD AN AWESOME INDEPENDENCE DAY THIS YEAR. THE HOLMES FAMILY INVITED US TO HANG OUT WITH THEM AT LAKE KEOWEE, SO WE TOOK THEM UP ON THE OFFER. IT WAS MARLI'S FIRST TIME ON A BOAT, AND ALL I CAN SAY IS THAT IT WAS INTERESTING.

A Hair Care Event

I LOVE MY JOB! Our salon is so great about giving back to the community. As we all know, the economy hasn’t been at its best recently, and many have lost jobs. Wisteria Salon Spa is holding a two-day event to offer free haircuts to people who have lost their job, to help them prepare for interviews. I am so excited to be a part of this! I pray that we will be able to show these individuals HOPE when they sit in our chair. I have included information below about the event.
